Salvation
Walking Down the "Romans Road" to Salvation . . . .
Because of our sin, we are separated from God.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
The Penalty for our sin is death.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
The penalty for our sin was paid by Jesus Christ!
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
If we repent of our sin, then confess and trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be saved from our sins!
For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9, 10)
How do I become a Christian? It's as easy as ABC:
Admit that you're a sinner.
Believe that Jesus is God's Son.
Confess your sins and ask Jesus into your heart.
God Loves You!
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
God has a wonderful plan for your life!
I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10b)
Are you ready to make a decision to follow Christ?
To receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, pray this prayer:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I realize that I am a sinner. I believe that you died on the cross for me so that my sin can be forgiven. I believe that you rose from the dead as proof that you paid the complete penalty for my sins. I am now trusting you to forgive my sins and to save me. I desire to follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In Jesus' name, amen.”
Now What?
If you just prayed that prayer and accepted Jesus as your savior, we want to know about it.
You are now a new creature in Christ. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
Congratulations in taking this step of faith in accepting Jesus Christ into your heart as your Savior. Now I want you to tell someone that you just prayed the prayer of salvation. Contact your family and friends and let them know; also, please notify us by sending an email to pastorsmith@smbchurch.com.
Now that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior do these three things:
- Talk to Him every day because He hears your prayers!
- Read your bible daily so you can grow in His Word!
- Find a bible-believing church to attend at least once per week!
Become a Member Today
We should not stop gathering together with other believers, as some of you are doing. Instead, we must continue to encourage each other even more as we see the day of the Lord coming. Hebrews 10:25
